Welcome to Benedict Pics where I'm on a quest to find the best Eggs Benedict in Brooklyn. Or Manhattan. Really this is just an excuse to go to brunch and order Eggs Benedict every time. But ratings makes things official!

Classic Egg Benedict @ Belli Osteria

Belli is a great spot in Clinton Hill, right off the C train at Fulton Ave and Clinton Ave. This place is somehow never crowded no matter what time we get there for brunch or dinner, which is outrageous because it is great. And they have a very reasonably priced unlimited mimosa deal - $22 for food and bottomless drinks for 2 hours. But is the eggs benedict good? Let’s break it down.

Simple, good portion, but salad would be nice for some color

Base: English muffin. It could have stood to maybe be toasted a little more, but they held up pretty well.
Score: 4

Non-Egg Protein: Not specified, but it was ham. The 2 slices were almost perfectly sized to the muffin and had a slight grill char on them which was really great. They were somewhat thin but since there were 2, very well portioned with the other elements.
Score: 5

Eggs: Cooked perfectly. This is definitely the first place to not only get poached eggs right, but to have both eggs be the same level of doneness. The yolks just oozed right out of the center like liquid gold and covered everything so deliciously. The yolk just dripped off of my knife after the important cut. The only bad thing was that one egg was already punctured upon delivery and some yolk had dribbled out. While not really a commentary on the eggs, it takes something away from the experience and was disappointing. But overall, the closest to perfection so far.
Score: 9

Just so, so good

Again, such runny yolk, just a shame it was already broken

Sauce: Hollandaise, I assume. Again, it wasn’t specified, but it seems pretty obvious. It was balanced really well and complimented the other flavors without being overpowering. However, it could have stood to have more sauce instead of just covering the eggs.
Score: 4

Sides: Potatoes and peppers. Standard sides, but instead of potato cubes or wedges, they were sliced thinner. So not only did it feel like more food, but there was more flavoring per potato piece. There was also just the right amount of perfectly prepared peppers to go along with them. Those slices also worked really well to help clean up the extra yolk from those perfect eggs. Some salad would have added some lightness and color, but these potatoes are good to soak up that booze.
Score: 5

Bonus: Bottomless brunch and food for $22? You bet there are bonus points here! And wow was that waitress attentive. Our blood orange mimosas were never more than half gone and they were still refilling after our check had come. We definitely had a good buzz on by the time we left with happy tummies. And isn’t that what brunch is all about?
Score: 3

Total score: 30/30!! The first perfect score! With bonus points, but still!
